About Us
Janshilakshmi Community Based Organization(JLCBO)
Janshi Lakshmi Community Based Organization(JLCBO) was registered in 2006 as a non-profit voluntary service society in Anantapur District of Andhra Pradesh, South India. The JLCBO has been working in the field of health, agriculture, women's development, environment, child welfare, rural infrastructure, rural skills up-gradation, education, income generation, child labor elimination, sex worker rehabilitation, rehabilitation of HIV/AIDS, etc.
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
1. To erode oppression and prohibition dependent on such factors as race, nationality, sex, class, religion, legitimate status, age, community, and sexual orientation.
2. To improve gender identity and gender reassignment equality, and opportunities.
3. To ensure bodily integrity, physical autonomy, and self-determination.
4. To build legal frameworks to ensure the protection of human rights and reparative justice.
5. To change attitudes towards sexuality stereotypes and transphobia in India.
6. To work for establishing social, economic, and environmental justice for Transgender people, sex workers, intersex, and gender non-conforming people and to eliminate oppression and exclusion based on such factors as race, ethnicity, gender, class, religion, legal status, and sexual orientation.

To represent mobilize and empower communities of female, male and transgender sex workers in India, to promote and protect the human rights of sex workers in India.

Beauty Parlor Crash Course
The workshop conducted in this direction facilitated adequate training and knowledge on topics central to the beauty parlors such as makeup, hair styling, facials, etc. In the workshop, about 25 girls availed of the benefits of the program which was meant exclusively for unemployed girls.

Livelihood training
On 06-Dec-2021, we inaugurated a tailoring training program at Anantapur(D), Andhra Pradesh. This livelihood training for marginalized populations to manage the COVID-19-induced financial crisis.

Tailoring training
We provide skill development training for deprived adolescents & women. Many economically deprived women & girls have started their micro-enterprise in fashion designing and stitching different types of blouses, zari work on sarees, and school children's uniforms stitching. With this, they are earning INR 4500/- per month as supplementary revenue for their family.

World AIDS Day
JLCBO celebrated World AIDS Day where people especially from the slum areas are made to gather and take part in awareness sessions. We were given information about the sources by which the HIV virus is transmitted, the symptoms of AIDS, and also about the various HIV detection tests performed in hospitals. Emphasis is laid on getting general health check-ups done at least once a year to see if they are positive for HIV or not.
